Glass Fiber Meshes Technical Data Sheet (TDS)

Glass fiber meshes are engineered grid-like reinforcements made from E-glass yarns, widely used in construction, waterproofing, EIFS (External Insulation Finishing Systems), and industrial reinforcement layers. These meshes provide dimensional stability, tensile strength, crack resistance, and excellent adhesion with cementitious or polymer-based systems.

Functional Benefits

propertyvalue
Crack ResistanceEffectively suppresses thermal and shrinkage cracks in base layers
Dimensional StabilityMaintains form under thermal and moisture variation
Cement CompatibilityStrong chemical bond with mortar and cementitious adhesives
Impact ResistanceReinforces outer wall finish against impact and vibrations
Ease of UseFlexible, rollable, easy to cut and embed in mortar

Application Areas

propertyvalue
EIFS (ETICS)Embedded in base coat to reinforce external wall insulation systems
Waterproofing SystemsUsed with bitumen membranes and coatings
Tile & Stone FixingUnderlay mesh to prevent cracking and improve bonding
Interior ReinforcementPrevent wall cracking behind plaster or gypsum
Marble Backing MeshSupports fragile stone surfaces during handling and installation
Gypsum Board ReinforcementUsed in joints, edges, or as full backing mesh

Processing Instructions

  • Mesh is embedded into a fresh wet layer of mortar or adhesive using a flat trowel
  • Ensure the mesh is placed with minimum 10 cm overlap between strips
  • Cut cleanly to avoid fraying; edge sealing is available on request
  • Ensure coating is not burned or degraded during handling

Packaging & Storage

propertyvalue
Packaging FormPE-wrapped rolls, 50–100 m/roll, on paper or PVC cores
PalletizationVertical or horizontal packing; shrink-wrapped on fumigated pallets
Storage ConditionsKeep dry, away from direct sunlight and corrosive chemicals
Shelf Life12 months under recommended storage conditions

Quality Assurance

All batches undergo tests per relevant international standards:

  • Tensile strength before and after alkaline soak (EN 13496)
  • Grid spacing and coating adhesion validation
  • Weight and thickness uniformity check
  • Shrinkage and deformation under heat and humidity
  • Visual inspection for yarn breakage, coating defects, edge fuzz

Custom mesh weights, roll widths, weave types, and chemical-resistant formulations are available upon request. Contact our technical support team for application-specific recommendations and datasheets.
